We both fell in love with Bronwen’s place. It felt like home as soon as we walked in. Two good sized bedroom with comfy beds and sweet outdoor spaces.... read more The kitchen had everything we needed and it was nice to have a big dining table for games. The location couldn’t be better - a shirt still to the castle and lots of great restaurants, pubs, the market, shops and countryside. Sad to leave but we’re already talking about our next stay!

Lovely spot really close to the castle. Cottage was like walking back in time but with all the modern bits we need. Everything was lovely and clean, towels and... read more bed linen all smelt amazing! A great base for a week exploring Shropshire.
Parking was easy and although we were staying during the Live at Ludlow Castle concerts we still managed to park close. House is really well located to do pretty much everything. Train station a 28 minute walk away, but really close to Dinham Bridge and therefore the start of many walks around Ludlow.

Really should be 4.5 stars.
Pleasant, characterful cottage in old Ludlow, with lots of thoughtful touches. Hot water bottles and spare blankets, and games available. Very comfortable... read more bed and sofas, spare towel available, and the kitchen is excellently equipped. There is a bit of a damp problem evident in the kitchen and it was clean enough but not sparkling. (That might describe my own kitchen.)
Bronwen was super-helpful and accommodating, provided excellent information in advance, and patiently made several adjustments to the heating to accommodate the comings and goings of our little group.
Bell Lane is quite narrow and part of the one way system, so there was a fair amount of traffic going by close to the sitting rooom window during the day (a fair amount in Ludlow terms isn't a great deal in city terms), but it was very quiet and peaceful in the evening and at night. An excellent, comfortable base.
